I attended the “How to photograph everyone.” master class at Studio Altius in Maplewood last week. What a great experience. This was the first photography workshop I’ve ever attended and it was well worth the time and money. Clay’s enthusiasm is infectious. We started at 9 a.m. and ended around 7:30 down at the Arch. Here are a few of my images from the day.
We had a lot of fun taking photos at the Norwood Hills Country Club‘s New Year’s Eve party. The theme for the party was the Titanic and the Country Club had borrowed several items from the Muny for decorating the ballroom. We had the great benefit of using a large photo of the Titanic’s Grand Staircase as our backdrop. We were a little unprepared for the amount of people we had waiting as soon as the evening started, but everything worked out well, and I think everyone had a good time. We’ve been photographing families at Norwood Hills Country Club’s Children’s Christmas Parties for the past 2 Sundays. It’s such a blast to see how excited the kids are when they’re getting their faces painted and seeing Santa Claus. I’m very grateful to the families who come by to have their photo taken. We took photos of Mason and his family last weekend. He was a lot of fun and so ready to have his picture taken – I think we had the shot finished in the first 3 frames. Mason’s Christmas outfit is pretty cute, too. Good job, Mom. Their dog, Camo, did really well for a puppy that has so much energy.
A few weeks ago I had the privilege to photograph the Davis family. They have three girls and the two oldest are twins. So cute and a lot of fun. It was the Friday of Halloween weekend so, of course, the girls were very excited about that. We shot at the end of the day and were able to take advantage of the sun setting on the wheat field behind their house which gave us some rich, warm colors for our background.
